    KONE's Global Legal Function provides services for KONE on a global basis to help KONE achieve its business objectives in line with its strategy. We have altogether some 180 legal professionals spread across more than 25 countries.

    KONE's legal team is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel, Nordics.

    As Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide expert advice on legal matters, with emphasis on reviewing and negotiating contracts, as well as advising the business in their day-to-day operations. Furthermore, you will be a key player in establishing policies that minimize legal and commercial risk. You apply independent judgment in determining courses of action required to perform assignments and make recommendations on all matters including policies and complex legal problems. As Senior Legal Counsel you will work closely with the business in making sure that we are successful and profitable.

    The position is within the Nordics Frontline which includes Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland and the Baltic countries. Your main focus and responsibility area will be Sweden and the rest of the Scandinavian region. This means that you will get to work in an international environment, close to the business operations while still being involved in high level development projects.

    Responsibilities and Key Activities

  • Advise the organization in legal matters as required.
  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
  • Be actively involved in the business activities of KONE Nordics to ensure that the legal activities are conducted efficiently, accurately, ethically and according to corporate policies and local laws/regulations.
  • Resolve legal disputes and develop, maintain and update relevant legal guidelines with a focus on preventing legal and contractual problems.
  • Coordinate dispute resolution proceedings and contacts with external lawyers and related advisors.
  • Support in M&A related topics together with the Head of Legal, Nordics.
  • Follow changes in laws and regulations and advise on how they impact KONE.
  • Collaborate with business colleagues to achieve targeted business results with acceptable level of legal risk.
  • Maintain strong connections with colleagues within KONE to share best practices and understand current and future needs.
  • Provide training on legal areas affecting KONE's business.
  • Requirements for the position

  • A university degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent)
  • At least seven years of relevant experience gained either as an in-house counsel or as an attorney in a prominent law firm.
  • Experience in construction law and local industry standard terms and conditions.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English. Other languages, including Scandinavian languages and/or Finnish being a benefit.
  • Motivation and drive to get things done in a fast-paced international and multicultural environment.
  • Excellent social, project execution, communication and decision making skills and an ability to take the initiative in resolving complex legal and business issues.
  • Experience with M&A, data privacy and IPR issues are a plus.
  • International work and/or study experience is a plus.
