Background

Chubb are investing in our Industry Practice model to drive mid-market growth. The ambition is to enhance existing practices and launch new ones. We are building specialist teams within Chubb that have a deep focus on an industry across multiple risk areas.

Underwriters, risk engineers and claims teams immersed in their industry to understand the unique risks that our clients face, and developing differentiated products and services that meet our clients needs and differentiate Chubb in the market.

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead Industry Practices in Northern and be part of creating and building this powerful proposition and team.

Role Purpose


The primary purpose of this role is the management and leadership of the Industry Practice teams and propositions across Northern Europe.

This role will set the vision and plan, build, and support the day to day needs of the team, plus play an active part in supporting the talent and development needs of underwriters.

This role will report to the Regional Executive Office; Northern Europe, and there are a broad range of other stakeholders including LOB leaders, Country Presidents, CEMENA Regional IP team.


The person in this role should have an underwriting background and be capable of holding high levels of underwriting authority in at least one CORE line of business.

They should also be interested in and capable or operating with understanding and influence across other LOBs.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & execution – Deliver and where possible exceed the IP financial plan. The ability toprepare and execute a business plan with key actions and tactics.

Delivery and execution of the financial plan is a critical responsibility for this role, and regular financial forecasting and updates will be required.

Product & proposition development – Execute on our IP acceleration plan by creating new and expanded products and propositions in conjunction with Product Development Manager, LOBs, Distribution, and Regional IP team.

Maintain regular dialogue with brokers and clients to ensure regularly obtain and act on their feedback. Regularly conduct and share market research and intelligence.
Marketing - Work with marketing to develop and implement a marketing strategy to launch and promote our IP propositions.

Raise Chubb's profile as an industry expert across our IPs through marketing collateral and events, engagement with technical market bodies, plus speaking at client, broker, and industry forums/events.

Broker and market engagement - This role is very much market facing.

It requires excellent communication and presentation skills to communicate our proposition clearly and passionately to brokers and clients, promoting Chubb as a 'Go to' market.

Acting as a senior representative for Industry Practices (both internally and externally), driving the strategic relationships, in terms of trading and execution with all our broking partners.

Pipeline management - Ensure the IP team have focus and ownership around pipeline management and broker visitation.
Target operating models - Lead and actively support adherence to Chubb's target operating models.

Drive and maintain best practice and disciplines around usage of key operational systems and look for opportunities to improve our processes to generate operational efficiency.

Qualifications


Skills & Experience required:
Ability to execute and influence at all levels both internally and externally.
People management and leadership skills
Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
An experienced professional whose expertise is recognised.
Understanding of the broker landscape and be able to directly support high value relationships and opportunities.
Being able to demonstrate examples of strategy development and operational improvement would be desirable.
Project Management experience

Underwriting background and be capable of holding high levels of underwriting authority in at least one CORE line of business.

They should also be interested in and capable or operating with understanding and influence across other LOBs.
