    We offer an exciting opportunity to come and be Head of the Technical Portfolio Management team , a team who play a crucial role in representing Offshore Generation organisation in new asset projects.

    The Technical Portfolio Management team within Operational Readiness department contributes significantly by sharing lessons learnt throughout project lifecycles. This helps optimise operational performance by guiding fact based decision-making with data and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

    Operational Readiness sits within the Operational Readiness & Excellence department, it is a department in Generation Offshore that ensures the ongoing success of our offshore wind farms by managing major change and product development projects.

Presently, we are actively recruiting for the position of Head of Technical Portfolio Management, a pivotal role charged with cultivating and overseeing a vibrant, cohesive team environment.     The Manager of Technical Portfolio Management gives direction to, and manages their staff in an inspiring, stimulating and supportive manner by setting out clear frameworks within which all employees shall work, they empower employees to take ownership of their work and nurture their talents.     The Manager of Technical Portfolio Management is also the representative of Generation towards new Asset projects, projects approaching end of DNP and Product Development projects on technical aspects, making sure new and existing assets and products are designed in a way (both technically and commercially) to support the Generation strategy and the Generation ways of working, as well as ensuring decisions between investments and operational expenditure are well informed and balanced.

    Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Represent Generation towards new Asset projects in development or Project Delivery on technical matters; as well as support where required, for end of DNP, the service period provided by OEM.
  • Safeguarding Generation's requirements towards the projects above.
  • Ensure flexible availability of people with the right competences and behaviours to support the projects.
  • Providing expertise and information regarding Generation's way of working via the O&M Development Package Manager, who reside outside the Technical Portfolio Management team
  • Important stakeholders:

    Internally: The Manager of Technical Portfolio Management reports to the Head of Operational Readiness. In addition, he/she will work with the other teams in Generation, as well as other functions in BU Offshore and BA Wind as required to achieve the goals of the team.

    Externally: The Manager of Technical Portfolio Management will work with external parties such as OEMs, partners, and suppliers, together with the Asset projects and Product Development projects, when required to find optimal solutions for Generation

    Your profile

    Your background

  • Master's degree in a relevant field is desirable
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership position
  • Demonstrated ability to lead international teams, driving a performance culture and development of key skills and knowledge
  • Experience of team resource and capacity planning in a dynamic environment is also helpful for this role.
  • Experience in building cohesive teams and promoting collaboration
  • A visionary thinker, who can see the big picture, sets clear goals and articulates a compelling vision for the team
  • Broad operational experience, preferably withing the Offshore wind sector
  • Highly motivated, inspiring and communicative leader
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Health and safety as the highest priority
  • Fluent in English
