About us

We are OlsAro Crop Biotech AB, a Swedish innovative agtech startup dedicated to developing solutions that empower agriculture to combat the challenges posed by climate change. Our initial focus lies in tackling salinity, a significant abiotic stressor impacting plant growth globally. Considering that 20% of the world's arable land and up to 50% of irrigated cultivatable land grapple with salinity-related cultivation challenges, the need and market potential is extensive. With a first focus on wheat OlsAro has also commenced work on additional traits such as heat tolerance and nitrogen use efficiency to further enhance crop resilience. OlsAro have recently successfully closed a seed funding round enabling enhanced efforts both commercially as well as technologically, aiming for food system resilience for future generations.

Role Overview

The Business Operations Manager is a linchpin in our operations, driving both operational efficiency and business development. This role demands a hands-on approach to streamline operations, spearhead new initiatives, and closely collaborate with the CEO to prioritize and execute on daily activities. It's an opportunity to significantly contribute to our strategic direction and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the CEO to manage and prioritize daily operations and strategic initiatives, aligned with our mission and goals.
  
• Operational Management: Enhance operational processes for maximum efficiency, aligning operations with business development strategies.
  
• Funding Expertise: Identify and apply for public funding, managing the entire application process to secure financial support for our projects.
• Communication: Further develop OlsAro's communication strategy, preparing materials and presenting to various audiences to effectively convey our mission, progress, and innovations.
• Business Development: Take part in identify and initiating new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships and collaborations to fuel our growth
• Process Optimization: Improve internal systems and procedures, such collaborative field trial pipeline, seed multiplication and project management, supporting operational and strategic objectives.
  
• Strategic Analysis: Analyse market trends and competitor activities, providing insights to commercial plans and to inform strategic decisions.
• Performance Reporting: Report on operational and business development performance, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A complementary background in biotech/agronomics is a plus.
• Experience in business operations, project management, or business development, preferably in the biotech or agricultural sectors.
• Ability to structure and visualize processes and making complex information accessible and understandable.
• Demonstrated success in public funding applications and grant management.
• Good communication and presentation skills, experienced in engaging with diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a track record of improving operational efficiencies and driving business growth.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to adapt to rapid changes and be flexible in taking on various tasks and roles as needed.
• A proactive attitude and the willingness to take initiative, with a strong sense of ownership and commitment.
• The ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems quickly and efficiently.

Position Details

This opportunity is for a full-time, permanent position, commencing with a six-month probationary period to ensure a mutual fit. The role is based in Gothenburg.

Location: OlsAros office is situated at Medicinaregatan 9C, Gothenburg, Sweden. Physical attendance is required.
