At Enterprise IT Security, we are on a mission to secure the IT journey for the Volvo Group. We work closely together with stakeholders across several Business Areas (BAs), Truck Divisions (TDs), and Group Functions (GFs). While the BAs drive the business, the TDs provide research, development, purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly. Within Volvo Group, the GFs own the Group agenda, provide strategic direction, and have global responsibility in group-wide functions such as IT, legal, compliance, and security.

With Enterprise IT Security, you will be part of Group Digital & IT (Group Function). A global and diverse team of highly skilled professionals who work passionately, trust each other, and embrace change to stay ahead. Enterprise IT Security works closely with Group Security, Infrastructure management and security functions within TDs, BAs, and GFs. Together we work to build a security posture that is best in class.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise cryptography and PKI Security Architect to join our dynamic team. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our Group's sensitive data through the development of comprehensive reference architecture, frameworks, blueprints, architecture standards, patterns and guidelines for robust cryptographic and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) management. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, particularly those within the Architecture function, to ensure alignment with business objectives and oversee the implementation of the reference architecture. This role requires a deep understanding of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, key management, and PKI infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop and maintain a holistic and robust strategic enterprise security architecture framework, reference architecture, security technology standards and security design patterns for cryptography and PKI security that aligns with the Group's business goals, technology landscape, and regulatory requirements

Design, develop and maintain enterprise-wide cryptography strategy, including appropriate cryptographic algorithms and protocols based on industry standards and compliance requirements

Design, develop and maintain enterprise-wide PKI (including digital certificates) security infrastructure framework including Certificate Authorities (CAs), registration authorities, certificate lifecycle management, and robust key management practices

Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams, including enterprise architects, Group Functions, infrastructure and application teams, compliance, and risk management, providing expert consultation and guidance to integrate cryptography into the overall security architecture

Evaluate and select appropriate encryption algorithms and cipher suites to meet security requirements while considering performance and compatibility

Contribute to security assessments and audits of cryptographic systems and PKI infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and compliance gaps

Stay current with emerging cryptographic trends, threats, and technologies through continuous research and knowledge sharing

Act as a subject matter expert on security reference architecture, providing consultation and guidance to stakeholders, including senior management, regarding cryptography and PKI security landscape strategies, risks, and benefits

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field

Proven experience (8+ years) cryptographic systems design, implementation, and management, preferably in enterprise environments

In-depth knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and standards (e.g., RSA, ECC, AES, SHA, PKCS)

Hands-on experience with PKI infrastructure design and management, including CA configuration, certificate lifecycle management, and key management

Experience and proficiency in developing security reference architecture, security technology standards and security design patterns for cryptographic technologies and PKI security infrastructure

Proficiency in security technologies such as SSL/TLS, IPsec, SSH, and cryptographic libraries

Familiarity with relevant security standards, regulations, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPPA, NIST)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and the capability to anticipate and address architectural challenges

Relevant certifications such as CISSP are a plus
