In our organization, you will find a unique opportunity to work with one of the world's leading research groups in the development of new tracers for positron emission tomography (PET). The Varrone research group conducts studies that support the development of new treatments and also develops new biomarkers for neuropsychiatric disorders. Clinical research and education are carried out in collaboration with Region Stockholm, other research groups from Karolinska Institutet , other universities, and industrial partners worldwide .
Your mission
Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a non-invasive molecular imaging technique increasingly used in biomedical research, medical diagnostics, and drug development. PET research opens up opportunities to explore entirely new aspects of human physiology and various disease states. It can optimize treatments using both new and established medications.
As a senior research specialist, you will work closely with the research group leader Varrone, as well as unit managers within the Division of Imaging Core Facilities . You will play an important role in the development of new trace elements in academic projects and projects carried out by the research groups in collaboration with industrial partners.

Eligibility requirements
We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and PhD-qualified radiochemist with extensive experience in the above tasks. To be considered for the position, you need to meet the following requirements:
As the workgroup and collaborators come from different parts of the world, proficiency in spoken and written English is essential .
To be eligible for employment as a Senior Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having equivalent scientific expertise, the applicant must have demonstrated good level of research expertise with significant scientific production. The applicant must also have demonstrated a good scientific independence to which their own contribution has been significant and a research plan of high quality with clear potential for the future.
