    Job Title: Senior Substation Automation & Control Engineer (SCADA Systems Specialist)

    Job Location: Vasteras, Sweden

    Overview: Linxon, a global leader in power system solutions, is seeking a highly skilled substation automation and control Engineer with specialized expertise in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for substation projects. Based in Vasteras, Sweden, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining control and protection systems to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our substations.

    What will you do?

    SCADA System Design:

    • Develop detailed SCADA system architectures and specifications for substation projects.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SCADA systems with existing infrastructure.
    • Design and configure Human-Machine Interface (HMI) displays for real-time monitoring and control.

    Controls and Protection Engineering:

    • Design, implement, and test protection and control schemes for substation equipment.
    • Configure Remote Terminal Units (e.g. RTU650) and develop and review relay protection settings to ensure system reliability and safety.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control and protection systems.

    System Integration:

    • Integrate SCADA systems with Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), PLCs, and other control devices.
    • Collaborate with communication engineers to establish robust communication networks for SCADA systems.

    Project Management:

    • Provide technical expertise and support during all phases of substation projects.
    • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of engineering tasks.
    • Manage and document changes to control and protection systems throughout the project lifecycle.

    Testing and Commissioning:

    • Develop test plans and procedures for SCADA systems and control equipment.
    • Participate in on-site testing and commissioning activities, ensuring proper functionality and performance.

    Training and Documentation:

    • Provide training to operations and maintenance teams on the use and maintenance of SCADA systems.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for control and protection systems.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
    • Proven experience in designing and implementing SCADA systems for substation projects.
    • In-depth knowledge of protection and control schemes for substation equipment.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols such as IEC
    • Proficiency in relevant software tools for SCADA system design and programming, such as Copa-Data, Netcontrol, MicroSCADA, etc.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Team lead skills

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with substation automation and smart grid technologies.
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for SCADA systems.
    • Project management experience.
