    Job Responsibilities:
Our main focus is to understand cell fate decisions in human diseases. We are developing state-of-the-art single-cell technology to characterize cell heterogeneity systematically and to identify key players involved in controlling specific cell fates. In our team, we are intrigued by why cells in our body contain the exact same DNA sequence but transform into different destinies. What, for example, causes some cells in the human body to become cancerous and not others? And how can stem cells differentiate into completely different cell types?

The candidate for this proposed position will establish state-of-the-art single-cell technology to understand tumor heterogeneity, expect to perform both wet and dry laboratory experiments and data extraction.

    Qualifications:
    • Eligible for education at the research level are those who have completed a degree at an advanced level in molecular biology, or similar field, with at least 240 ECTS credits, of which at least 60 are at an advanced level, including an independent work of at least 15 ECTS credits, or
    • have acquired essentially equivalent knowledge in some other way.

Background in molecular biology and computational data mining. Have good knowledge in molecular biology and computational skills. Basic knowledge in Python, R, Bash, bioinformatics tools, and experience in analyzing and interpreting biological data, scRNA-seq data. Good communication skills with team members. Ability to write and speak English fluently.

Selection of applicants is made by the supervisor in consultation with the department's research education group. The Doctoral Education Committee within the medical-pharmacy science area admits the doctoral student. Salary placement is done according to local guidelines at Uppsala University.
