Om Vinod Kandavalli:

I’m a molecular and cellular biologist who has spent the last decade poking, prodding, engineering, and occasionally sweet-talking cells into doing what I want. My toolkit ranges from assay development and protein engineering to single-molecule detection with fancy microscopes and flow cytometers that cost more than my car. I love building bridges between wet lab and computation, the kind that turn messy biological data into something that actually makes sense. I’ve optimized expression systems, designed synthetic gene networks, and developed high-throughput assays to help diagnostics and therapeutics become smarter, faster, and more reliable.

I thrive in teams where biologists, engineers, and computational scientists engage in passionate discussions in meetings and then collaborate to build innovative solutions afterward. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: understand how cells behave in real-world environments and turn that knowledge into solutions that make human health a little less complicated.

Erfarenhet

I am a Molecular and Cellular Biologist with 10+ years of experience developing diagnostic assays, engineering genomes, and building high-throughput screening systems. I’ve led projects involving microscopy-based drug susceptibility testing, protein mutation screening (padlock/RCA), CRISPR–Cas9 and Lambda Red genome engineering, sequencing workflows, and protein characterization using LC-MS and HPLC.

My Ph.D. research focused on single-cell transcription dynamics in E. coli using advanced microscopy and flow cytometry, contributing to more robust synthetic genetic circuit design. I bring deep expertise in single-molecule detection methods, molecular tool development, and computational analysis.

I have extensive experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supervising researchers, writing grants, and presenting at international conferences, with 17 peer-reviewed publications, 15 conference papers, and 300+ citations.

Utbildning

Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, with a focus on single-cell transcription dynamics in E. coli using advanced single-molecule microscopy and flow cytometry. Developed molecular and synthetic biology tools, engineered gene circuits, and applied quantitative and computational methods to study gene regulation. This work strengthens expertise relevant to diagnostics, synthetic biology, and biotechnological applications.
